Introduction to marshalling

We have organised an “Introduction to marshalling” event at Oulton Park for the full day on Saturday 23^rd April 2016 with a free hot breakfast supplied courtesy of Aintree Motorcycle Club and Cheshire Motorcycle Marshals Association from 7.00am ready for a prompt 9am start.

If you or anyone else you know would like to attend could you please call Lucien on 07970 115 487 as you will need a ticket to get in.  We do have spare tickets but these are limited and may not be available if you just turn up on the day wanting to attend.

You must be 18 or over to attend or 16 or over to attend with a parent/guardian and with their written consent.

On the day it is essential that you wear warm clothes, decent walking shoes, waterproof jacket and a hat.  You can borrow orange hi viz bibs but if you have any of your own that you can bring that would be a big help.

After breakfast there will be an informative and interesting safety briefing plus details on how a meeting is run with the various marshals roles. We will have a walk around the circuit watching a meeting in progress and answering any questions you may have.

The idea of the day is that you will meet members of Marshals North West who can guide you through the various roles of marshalling, answer any questions you may have and put you in touch with the right contacts within the clubs or circuits which may interest you.

We recommend that you bring a packed lunch with you but lunch can be purchased from the café on site.

After lunch you will then be given the opportunity to “be on post” with experienced marshals to either observe or get involved, whichever you feel most comfortable with.

At the end of the day we’ll all regroup for a question and answer session and hope that you will have enjoyed your day and will continue to marshal with Marshals North West for our associated clubs and circuits, and remember, there is no commitment requirement to do anything, just help us out whenever you can or whenever you want to watch some great motorcycle racing.

This is an actual race day for Wirral 100 motorcycle club including the first round of the British Sidecar Championship, so come along and get free entry!!!!
