Marshals North West add Leighton Hall Hill Climb to 2021 Sprint Series
It is with regret that we have to inform you that the founder of the Leighton Hall Hill Climb, Ian Sherrard of Sherrard Classic Vehicle Events has decided to retire. Both Ian and his wife Viv, have worked tirelessly to bring this famous event to us from the initial concept to reality, with events being run since 2014. However, after suffering serious ill health with complications and postponed events due to the COVID, Ian decided to retire and take some well-earned time out to recuperate while enjoying quality time with his family and his grandson.
To lose such a special event from the calendar would be a tragedy after so much hard work. So, with agreement with Ian and Leighton Hall, Marshals North West, aided with the experience of Ian and Leighton Hall staff, will now promote and run the Leighton Hall Hill Climb in order to continue this great event and keeping up the legacy of Sherrard Classic Vehicle Events.
We really hope Ian and his family will join us at this and coming events, have a leisurely day catching up with everyone and celebrating the event, and he is not too disappointed with our efforts to meet his high standards.
We are currently consolidating the club Supplementary Regulations across the 3 events in the sprint series and hope to get these approved and permits issued soon. In the meantime we are pleased to announce that our 2021 Sprint Series should take the form of;
Hoghton Tower Sprint Hoghton Tower, Preston PR5 0SH, Sunday the 25th July 2021.
3 Sisters Twisty Sprint Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan WN4 8DD, Saturday 16th October 2021.
Leighton Hall Hill Climb Leighton Hall, Carnforth, Lancashire, LA5 9ST, Sunday 26th September 2021.
